January: Progress Update #2

January is almost concluding, and boy, have I made some progress! Since the last progress update, where I had just finished the front pages of Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, I have now added two more landing pages under the ‘Games’ topic drop-down menu in the navigation menu. When accessing the drop-down menu via the home page’s header or any primary or secondary page’s navigation menu, all of the newly added pages are now available to visit. Here’s what else has changed…

What’s new?
  • I have updated the home page. Before, after scrolling past the header, you would see my introduction. This time, I’ve added a block in the form of a query loop with my recently added posts which now shows before the introduction does. If all goes well, this portion of the page will passively and continuously update as I add more content to my website. I will later add another block containing new recently added pages, as well as the already existing posts block.
  • Updated the featured image on the home page. Before, this showed “Chalunaria”, in both English and Korean. Before it was written like “차루나리아” (Charunaria) while it should be “찰루나리아” and thus pronounced Challunaria (although not accurate in writing). I noticed this only now, now that I’m improving at speaking, writing and reading Korean.
  • Added a new button in the page’s navigation bars and footers, which is titled “Buy me a coffee!”. This is the common phrase that’s used by users of the Ko-Fi website. Ko-Fi is a website similar to Patreon, where online content creators can receive small to modest tips and donations from people who appreciate their content. This button links to my profile on Ko-Fi and allows potential visitors, readers, viewers and users who visit any of my profiles to tip me or donate me and support me while I continue to make more content and art and expend my creativity. This is meant to be a potential nice add-on, and is by far not one of my main purposes. Maybe this function will become relevant later on, when my popularity grows.
  • I have added a page on the The Sims 4. On this page, I’ve only written a small introduction into the game, so far. When I make functional custom content or mods for The Sims 4, I will be sharing it on this page, as well as on my Patreon page. These mods and custom content will be available to download.
  • I have added a page on Project Sekai: Colorful Stage to translate the Japanese game onto English. I have noticed that other players are experiencing difficulties understanding the Japanese version of the game, since it’s the original version and different from the English one. Because I’m already learning Japanese, this is a fun exercise for me to do, decorated with some functionality, like a cherry on top of a cake.
  • Added my first page under the [Topics > Crafts] pages, titled Cross-Stitching. This is going to be February’s hobby of the month under My Creative 2025 project. On this page, I’ve shared samples of my completed projects. I will post and create more downloadable and purchasable cross-stitching patterns on my Patreon page and Ko-Fi profile, as I go. Some will be free to download, some will be available for purchasing and downloading thereafter.
  • Added a lightbox which allows visitors of this website to click on images to enlarge them.

Other advancements
  • Published my Patreon page
  • Published my Ko-Fi profile, which allows donations
  • Set up my PayPal business account, which allows the collection of donations
  • Become more active on the streaming service Twitch, streaming some of my favourite games and connecting with my audience
  • Started learning Japanese on Duolingo
  • Improved my banners with new icons related to the platforms I’m active on

What are my plans?
  • Make cover images for the My Creative 2025 project (e.g. My Creative January, My Creative February, etc.)
  • Fix issues where some of the topics pages show the wrong content (My Creative 2025 monthly pages showing under the Video Edits topic page, etc.)
  • Add more The Sims 4 custom content and mods to my Patreon page and Ko-Fi profile
  • Add cross-stitching patterns to my Patreon page and Ko-Fi profile
  • Set up Memberships on Patreon
  • Become more active on Twitch, stream other games and become an affiliate
  • Make changes to the plan for the ‘My Creative 2025’ project
  • Change the side menus of their corresponding pages to be related to the topic on the page (Now: showing common website-wide pages, posts, categories and tags | Next: showing pages, posts, categories and tags related to the active page)
  • Update the [Topics > Games] page and the [Topics > Crafts] page
  • Add previously uploaded artworks to the [Topics > Video Edits] page
  • Add a [Topics > Drawings] page
  • Add another block containing new recently added pages on the home page
  • Find a way to showcase my recently listened-to music on this website
  • Improve my personal website and the interaction between it and this one

⠀ As you can see, there’s a lot of plans coming up and I’ll probably never be completely done with the website. I’m looking forward to see it grow in the coming year. My apologies for any inconsistencies and reduced functionalities on this website. Please look forward to more improvements in the future and thank you for visiting Chalunaria! ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━⋆⋅☆⋅⋆━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ❥ Social Media: Patreon               Ko-Fi YouTube              X / Twitter Instagram          Twitch ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━⋆⋅☆⋅⋆━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
